Abstract

This article analyzed the management processes and capabilities of tactical motorcycle patrols carried out by the Rapid Ostensive Intervention Group (GIRO) within the Goiás State Military Police (PMGO). It also examined the extent to which GIRO operations would be needed beyond Goiânia, the capital of the state of Goiás, based on the perspectives of the Commanders of the PMGO Regional Commands. Through a qualitative analysis, it was possible to identify synergy among these Commanders regarding the need for permanent expansion of GIRO operations to several regional areas, especially the Goiânia metropolitan area, the surrounding Federal District, and strategic cities within the state. Furthermore, it identified the need to create a large Rapid Ostensive Intervention Command, which would allow for centralized and appropriate management of this unique and distinctive form of police action, as well as a strategic model for physical and logistical structuring without cost to the state treasury, based on the implementation of an innovative prototype.
