GENERAL DATA PROTECTION LAW
A Study on the Perception of Military Police Officers about Adapting to the Legislation Applied to Police Work
Abstract
This study analyzes the adaptation of the Military Police of Goiás (PMGO) to the General Data Protection Law (LGPD), focusing on the challenges, police officers’ perceptions, and the measures needed to achieve compliance with the legislation. Through a mixed methodology, which combined documentary analysis, questionnaires, and interviews, it is revealed that, despite a significant awareness of the importance of the law and a general recognition of the challenges imposed, military police officers are still in a process of adaptation, with critical needs in personnel training and technological updating. The results indicate that the corporation is partially adapted to the LGPD, highlighting the need for actions focused on training and modernizing the technological infrastructure. The conclusions emphasize the importance of implementing specific guidelines and suggest a path for future improvements, pointing to the need for a continued commitment to legal compliance and privacy protection.
