HISTÓRICO DOCUMENTAL DA GESTÃO POR INDICADORES DA SEGURANÇA PÚBLICA PELA POLÍCIA MILITAR DE MINAS GERAIS

Abstract

This article describes the history, procedures and published legal norms that supported the implementation of scientific management by the Military Police of Minas Gerais. In general, the management by indicators that guide the operational employment of the Military Police, being built and improved over the years. We tried to describe the steps followed by the institution until the implementation of the current model of management by indicators. It is demonstrated through a brief statistical analysis the effectiveness of the methodology that always needs improvement. It is noteworthy that indicators are not an end in themselves, but should guide, together with other indicators, such as administrative indicators (which guide administrative actions in support of operational activities), the use of ostensible public security services, in order to that can produce the desired effects.
