Abstract

This study aims to verify the interference of non-lethal criminal variables in the quantitative mortality rate for homicides in Brazil. A descriptive study was carried out using the Brazilian Public Security Yearbook, from 2014 to 2017 - providing a cross-sectional study between 2011 and 2016. A multiple regression was run on the Stata software, which resulted in a strong correlation between non- with the number of criminal deaths in Brazil. The result allowed to point out the need for a much broader discussion about public security policies, pointing to a strong and systemic relationship between the different forms of criminal activity in the results of the homicides. This allows individual strategies to be set up to try to minimize wrongdoing.
