Abstract

The present study addressed the importance of the existence, adoption and adherence of the Standard Operating Procedure (POP) in the Military Police of the State of Goiás (PMGO), in order to evaluate how the POP protects the police in their actions; to report how much is fundamental in the current reality and to teach how this one fits in the parameters of the public safety. For this, a bibliographic study and field research was carried out by applying an on-line questionnaire to the group of effective students of the Command of the Military Police Academy of Goiás who exercise or exercise operational functions and represent all the Regional Major Commands of the corporation. The results show that for the great majority of the participants in the study in question, the POP is important and its existence, adoption and adhesion collaborate to better provide the services of the police in a technical and systemic way, standardizing the action, resulting in maximum security and military service to society.
